YMSF: Seating Auditions & 1st Rehearsal

Students and their teachers may look through the music available on our website. They can determine the technical level of their student which would offer them a positive experience. While this opens the door for a larger age range, it better meets the wider variable of playing ability of so many students across the Lehigh Valley.
When students register, they can select either Violin 1 or 2, Viola, Cello or DB books. See the image below for navigation to both music and the mp3 files
4:00-5:45pm is time for optional seating auditions. After seating auditions, the first rehearsal is that same day from 6-8pm
Audition music will probably be the most technically challenging measures of the music, which one can download from the website.
The seating audition is "no penalty." All students to chose to take a seating audition will be placed ahead of those who don't. In addition to the seating, each section will have 1-2 coaches from the Allentown Symphony and El Sistema LV Teaching artists. This gives each student a shadow player nearby to assist in any need.
Students who elect to take a seating audition should arrive to the hall by 3:45pm and will be called in turn for the 10 minute audition with the coaches. After the seating auditions, the first rehearsal begins at 6pm and ends at 8:30pm. Snacks will be provided. We encourage parents to pack a sack lunch for the longer evening.
