The MaryLou Vogt Benefit Concert
Thursday, May 02, 2019, 7:00 pm
Support Lehigh Valley Women-Survivors of Sexual Assault & Domestic violence
This benefit concert will take place in the Rodale Community Room and will showcase Sister Willow, a soulful rock trio composed of powerhouse solo vocalists Chrissy Gardner, Abigail Zsiga and Megan Chenot. This will be the second time that the trio will come together to perform live.
Doors will open at 6:30pm. Anyone who purchases tickets before March 14, 2019 will receive 10 complimentary 50/50 raffle tickets.
All proceeds of the MaryLou Vogt Benefit Concert will go towards the MaryLou Vogt Scholarship, which is sponsored by the Emmaus chapter of Soroptimist International. This scholarship will cover the cost of participation in intensive healing workshops facilitated by Clear Path Wellness of the Lehigh Valley for those who have been affected by sexual trauma. Applications for participation are available through Soroptomist of Emmaus or by visiting Clear Path Wellness online at https://clearpathwellnesslv.com.
MaryLou Vogt worked extensively with the Miller Symphony Hall (when it went by the name Allentown Symphony Hall) and the Allentown Symphony Orchestra in her life, so it is fitting that her scholarship will be funded by a benefit concert at that very music hall. The MaryLou Vogt scholarship was founded in honor of the beloved Lehigh Valley musician and teacher by her daughters: Liz Jordon, Kate Lampe, Mary Benner, Jeannie Vogt and Chrissy Da Re. Jordon, Lampe and Benner are also the owners and practitioners of Clear Path Wellness of the Lehigh Valley, and have dedicated their lives to the healing of sexual trauma.
The sisters dedicate time and support to Soroptomist of Emmaus, as well, furthering the mission of helping empower women of all means and circumstances through education, resources and connections. Their mission is driven by their experience that educated women are able to raise stronger, healthier families, leave abusive relationships, are able to more effectively access healthcare and are less likely to live in poverty or be trafficked. The funds collected from the MaryLou Vogt Benefit Concert will go directly to the MaryLou Vogt Scholarship, offered and awarded annually by Soroptomist of Emmaus.
