Olga Kern plays Rachmaninoff
Saturday, September 21, 2019, 7:30 pm
The ASO’s 2019-2020 Classical Season opens with re-known pianist Olga Kern performing Rachmaninoff’s towering 2nd Piano Concerto. Recognized as one of her generation's great artists, Kern jumpstarted her U.S. career with an historic Gold Medal at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition – the first woman to do so in more than thirty years. Maesto Wittry complements the “Blue” opener with two contemporary compositions – Michael Torke’s Bright Blue Music and Jennifer Higdon’s blue cathedral. The concert completes with the greatest waltz of all times – the Strauss Blue Danube.
The ASO’s spectacular season kicks off with a Rach and Blue pre-concert event on Saturday, September 21st. CLICK HERE for more info and to order tickets.
