The ASO brings the joy of music back to the stage with Mozart’s timeless Eine Kleine Nachtumusik, the happiness and affirmation of Vivaldi, and the transcendent beauty of Debussy. Featuring Principal Oboe, Rick Basehore and Principal Harp, Frances Duffy as soloists with an ensemble from the ASO.

Frances Duffy
Frances Duffy is a freelance harpist and teacher in the NYC metro area. She is principal harp with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, Hudson Valley Philharmonic, and Wheeling Symphony Orchestra. She has performed with the NY Philharmonic, Baltimore Symphony, American Symphony Orchestra, NYC Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. She has also been harpist for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and the Broadway show, WICKED. Frances has degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, Manhattan School of Music, and recently received her DMA from Rutgers University. She has studied pedal harp with Kathleen Bride, Anne-Marguerite Michaud, Sarah Bullen, and Deborah Hoffman and was introduced to the world of historical harps by Sam Milligan. She currently is working with Christa Patton on the Italian triple harp and hopes to add one (and a single action instrument) to her family of harps.
Rick Basehore
Rick Basehore, a Rochester, NY native, is an active freelance oboist in the DC metro area. His performing schedule includes orchestral concerts across the mid-Atlantic region from Norfolk, VA to New York City. He is currently the Principal Oboist of the Allentown Symphony, Fairfax (VA) Symphony, and Sarasota (FL) Opera, orchestras, Second Oboist/English Hornist of the Annapolis Symphony, and the English Hornist of the Maryland and Harrisburg Symphony orchestras. He regularly plays with the Grammy-nominated professional choir, Seraphic Fire, and can be heard on their recording of Bach's Cantata 84. Rick moved to DC in 2008 to assume the duties of Co-Principal Oboist with "The President's Own" U.S. Marine Band. He spent his four-year enlistment playing for 2 Presidents, various visiting foreign dignitaries, and tens of thousands of Americans on four separate tours across the country. Other previous positions include Principal Oboist of the Kentucky Symphony, Second Oboist with the Binghamton Philharmonic, and Third Oboist with the Virginia Symphony. Over the last 25 years, Rick has travelled across the world, playing music festivals in places such as Moscow, Jerusalem, Aspen, and Stuttgart; in 2001 he spent two months playing with the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra in Yekaterinburg, Russia as part of a cross-cultural residency program. Between 1998 and 2002, he toured extensively and recorded with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra. Rick studied with Richard Killmer at the Eastman School of Music and Mark Ostoich at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. He also spent three years in the New World Symphony, America's only full-time training orchestra for professional musicians.
