Founded in 1983 by Oregon native Jim Bernau with the dream of creating world-class Pinot Noir, Jim cleared away an old pioneer plum orchard in the Salem Hills and watered the vines by hand using 17 lengths of garden hose to get the grapelings through their first summer. Willamette Valley Vineyards has grown from a bold idea into one of the region’s leading wineries, earning the title “One of America’s Great Pinot Noir Producers” from Wine Enthusiast Magazine. Among the winery’s unique distinctions is that it's owned by more than 20,000 wine enthusiasts (NASDAQ: WVVI & WVVIP).

With this virtual wine tasting, you will enjoy three wines that express the terroir of our three estate vineyards — the original planting by Founder Jim Bernau in the Salem Hills, Tualatin Estate planted by Oregon wine pioneer Bill Fuller in the foothills of the Coastal Range and Elton planted by Dick and Betty O'Brien in the Eola-Amity Hills. This trio includes:

2020 Estate Pinot Noir
This wine exemplifies the "Oregon style" opening with aromas of raspberry, blackberry, currant, earth and dried herbs to create an elegant bouquet. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and flavors of cherry, bramble fruit, cedar, anise and minerality

2019 Estate Chardonnay
Classic "Willamette Valley style" Chardonnay. Pale gold in color, notes of lemon, sweet cream, brioche, vanilla and clove fill the glass. The medium-bodied palate opens displaying a beautiful creamy texture and flavors including zest of lemon and lime, quince, honey and baking spice.

2020 Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir
Bright pink in color with aromas of juicy strawberry, cherry, tropical lychee and vanilla cream. Dry with a medium-body, round mouthfeel and vibrant flavors of nectarine, peach, honeysuckle and minerality. The refreshing acidity creates a lively and clean finish.
