Chuck Redd is an internationally acclaimed jazz vibraphonist and drummer. He began his career at 21, touring with guitarist Charlie Byrd and The Great Guitars (Barney Kessel, Byrd, and Herb Ellis). With over 85 recordings to his name, Chuck has performed at Carnegie Hall, the White House, and festivals worldwide, collaborating with legends like Mel Tormé, Dizzy Gillespie, and Monty Alexander.

A two-time winner of NYC’s Hot House Jazz Magazine “Best Vibist” award, Chuck has been praised by Jazz Times as “exquisite” and recognized by The Washington Post for his “enduring range” and “rich melodies.” He was Artist-in-Residence at the Smithsonian Jazz Café (2004-2008) and served 15 years with the Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra.

Currently Artistic Director of the Oregon Festival of American Music, Chuck continues to tour, record, and present master classes. His recent projects include performances with Monty Alexander’s Harlem Kingston Express and recordings with Ken Peplowski, the John Pizzarelli Quartet, and pianist Tadataka Uno.
