Enjoy an evening of bold, modern jazz, led by trombonist and composer Rob Stoneback. Trombosis delivers an electrifying blend of tight grooves, rich harmonies, and adventurous improvisation. This high-energy ensemble brings a fresh, contemporary voice to the jazz tradition—perfect for longtime fans and newcomers.
We often call the trombone the “forgotten instrument.” From the first elementary band music trombones rarely get to play the melody. Instead we are usually playing sustained notes while the clarinets, flutes, trumpets—oh, just name it, and that instrument gets the spotlight. Even in a wedding band the last horn added to the group is usually a trombone.
Well, Trombosis is here to change all that! From the power of four trombones to the beauty of a smooth, emotional ballad with a splendid rhythm section, you will hear the versatility of this great instrument.
Like the wonderful Kai Winding four trombones and rhythm group, the arrangements swing, glide, and even get funky showing the power and grace of the slide masters.
The members of Trombosis are also members of the Rob Stoneback Big Band:
