Jazz Upstairs has the best jazz performances in the Lehigh Valley and beyond. While in New York City we had the opportunity to attend a performance at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The performances at Jazz Upstairs are as good or better at a fraction of the cost. We chose to be an artist sponsor to help promote live music in the Lehigh Valley. Fortunately, we were able to give back to the community that has been so good to us. It is our hope that other families will consider doing the same.

A few years ago I noticed that the Allentown Symphony Orchestra was performing the Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4 in F minor. It had been a favorite of mine, and I’d never heard it performed live. My wife and I decided to attend and “give it a listen.” We had never attended a Symphony concert at that point. I had no real expectations, but was curious to hear what the Allentown Symphony could do. I was so surprised at the results! My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the concert, and the levels of professionalism and talent were eye-opening and astounding! We made up our minds to become subscribers the following season. Sometime later I looked into providing support for our hometown gem. For the past few years I have been privileged to sponsor concerts. I don’t sponsor because of the benefits of ad space in the program or any other amenities of sponsorship. I do so because I believe the Symphony should be supported, allowing it to continue to grow and have a long life in our community. It provides outstanding, “big-city” music right here in the Lehigh Valley, and brings in talent from all parts of the world to entertain and enlighten us. Sponsorship is indeed a privilege, and it is one of which I am particularly proud. The Allentown Symphony is vital and needs to continue that vitality into its future in Allentown and the Lehigh Valley.
