Daniel Rodriguez brought the country an uplifting spirit of promise and hope with his stirring performances after the September 11 attacks. Formal voice training began early, and he gave a recital at Carnegie Hall while still a teenager. Singing remained his passion, though it did not always pay the bills. At age 30 he joined the New York City Police Department and became known as “The Singing Policeman.” On September 11, 2001, Officer Rodriguez responded as a police officer and witnessed the destruction of the World Trade Center. His nationally televised performance at “Prayer for America” in Yankee Stadium gave strength to a grieving nation and transformed his music career into a calling.

Parkland High School Chorale
The Parkland Chorale is the top auditioned mixed choir from Parkland High School in Allentown, PA, under the direction of Alison Lagan. Chorale includes students in grades 10-12 who perform advanced choral repertoire throughout the Parkland community. They rehearse after school twice a week, and all students participate in grade-level choirs during the regular school day. Chorale performs frequently throughout the greater Lehigh Valley, including appearances with the Allentown Symphony Orchestra and the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. Notable performance features include the 2025 PMEA All-State Conference, the 2025 NAfME All-Eastern Conference, the PA State Capitol, and Carnegie Hall. 

The Freedom H.S. Fife and Drum Corps
The Freedom H.S. Fife and Drum Corps was founded in 1967 when the building opened. They have performed locally at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, nationally, in the National Veterans Day Parade in Washington DC, and internationally in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland. They are currently comprised of 10 fifers and 4 drummers led by their head fifer, Julius Vertel. They will be playing Yankee Doodle and 1812 Quickstep.

The Dieruff H.S. Jr. ROTC– The objective of this program is to educate and train high school cadets in citizenship; to promote community service; to instill responsibility, character, and self-discipline; and to provide instruction in air and space fundamentals
