Commemorating America’s Semiquincentennial with American music representing the evolution of bands in America from the Revolutionary period’s fifes and drums to the present-day concert band.

Yankee Doodling: A Young Person’s Guide to the Concert Band
Emile Guida, Narrator
An energetic and comic theme and variations treatment of this favorite tune with narrator to introduce the instruments of the band. This might be thought of as parallel to Leonard Bernstein’s “Young People’s Guide to the Orchestra.”
Fifes and Drums- The Allentown Band’s first documented performance occurred on July 4, 1822, with a band comprised of fifes and drums.
The White Cockade (Traditional)
Brass Band By the mid-19th century, the Allentown Band evolved into a band consisting of brass and percussion instruments.
