General Policies
Re-Entry Policy
Miller Symphony Hall has a NO RE-ENTRY policy. If a patron leaves the building for any reason, they may not re-enter the building with their previously used/scanned ticket unless they notify a staff member or volunteer prior to leaving and have their ticket marked for re-entry. Otherwise, they may purchase a new ticket to re-enter the building.
Smoking Policy
Miller Symphony Hall is a SMOKE-FREE building. The use of tobacco products, including, but not limited to, cigarettes, e-pipes, e-hookahs, and e-cigars, are strictly prohibited inside the building.
Camera/Audio Recording Policy
Audio & Visual recording is not permitted. No professional cameras or detachable lenses will be allowed into the building. Personal print-and-shoot cameras may be used. Simple point-and-shoot cameras are defined as still photography cameras that do not have detachable lenses. Even when cell phone cameras are permitted, VIDEO RECORDING using a cell phone camera is NOT PERMITTED, unless otherwise allowed by the particular artist. Flash photography, selfie-sticks, tripods and monopods are not permitted.
Not Permitted
For the safety and convenience of all our guests, the following are NOT PERMITTED at Miller Symphony Hall events & concerts:
- Bringing outside food or beverages
- Bringing coolers and/or pitchers
- Removing alcoholic beverages from the site
- Bringing pets, except personal assistance dogs (dogs are the only permitted assistance animals)
- Bringing large bags or backpacks. Small bags such as purses are permitted and are subject to search.
- Bringing or using laser pointers
- Fireworks
- Conducting unauthorized marketing or solicitation
- Climbing on the stage, scaffolding, or any other structure
- Defacing or damaging property
- Bringing gifts, balloons, or signs into the theatre
- Weapons of any kind
Failure to comply with these rules may result in ejection and possible prosecution, depending on the severity of the infraction.
Code of Conduct
Allentown Symphony Association strives to create a safe, clean, comfortable and enjoyable environment for all guests. We are committed to providing excellent customer service and a courteous staff. As such, when attending an event at Miller Symphony Hall, guests are required to exhibit appropriate behavior and MUST REFRAIN FROM THE FOLLOWING:
- Behavior that is unruly, disruptive or illegal in nature
- Fighting or other behavior deemed detrimental to the experience of other guests
- Intoxication or other signs of alcohol impairment that result in irresponsible behavior
- Foul or abusive language or obscene gestures
- Interference with the progress of the event
- Failing to follow instructions of emergency responders and event personnel or management
- Verbal or abusive harassment of artists, staff, vendors and other guests.
- Standing on chairs/seats or blocking the aisles
- Disturbing other guests’ enjoyment of the event
- Displaying obscene or indecent messages or images on signs or clothing
- Violating any local, state or federal laws
Guests engaged in any of the above actions may immediately be removed from the property. Removed guests will not receive a refund of their ticket purchase price (where applicable) or be compensated in any way. Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats/area (where applicable) and will present tickets when requested by Miller Symphony Hall volunteers, staff or security. Guests are encouraged to report inappropriate behavior to the nearest Allentown Symphony Association staff, security and/or emergency responder or call 911.
Searches
Allentown Symphony Association reserves the right to inspect and search all guests. Guests should be prepared to have all hand carried items open and ready for inspection. Allowable hand carried items include, but are not limited to, bags, purses, camera cases, small backpacks, etc. Allentown Symphony Association reserves the right to employ metal detection devices as necessary to promote a safe environment for guests, performers, and employees. Failure to comply with a request to be searched or have your bag searched will result in your restriction from entering Miller Symphony Halls venue or property, without any refund of ticket purchase price (where applicable) or any other compensation.
